How to Get Rid of Dandruff When Your Shampoo Can’t Do It

Dandruff is part of a very common disease, known as seborrheic dermatitis. Causes of this disease are numerous: stress, improper hair & scalp care or unhealthy diet.

You can get rid of dandruff with these all-natural masks that are easy to apply and have long-term effect.

Here are the best natural remedies for dandruff when your shampoo fails.

1. Yogurt reduces inflammation

The bacteria found in the body and scalp cause inflammation and should be treated with healthy bacteria. Yogurt is a natural probiotic that helps prevent and treat inflammation.
What should you do? Wash your hair with a shampoo for sensitive scalp then apply the yogurt mask. Let the mask on for 15 minutes then rinse your hair with water.
If you want to completely get rid of dandruff, apply this treatment two or three times a week for a month.

2. Apple cider vinegar improves the pH level

Apple cider vinegar improves the pH and effectively removes dandruff. It is enough to add eight or ten tablespoons of vinegar in a bowl with water, then rinse your hair with this mixture after you previously washed it.
Massage your scalp and let the vinegar act for 15 minutes then rinse your hair with water.

3. Lemon juice and coconut oil mask removes dandruff

Dandruff is caused by the disturbance of the pH level, and lemon juice helps stabilize it. Coconut oil has antifungal and antibacterial properties.
Mix one part lemon juice with five parts coconut oil and apply this mask to your scalp. Gently massage the scalp and leave the mask act 30 minutes, then use a natural shampoo to remove the mask.

4. Aloe helps remove dead cells from the skin

Aloe has antibacterial and antifungal properties, helps remove dead cells and heals scalp lesions. By removing dead skin cells, dandruff has almost no chances to reoccur.
Apply aloe oil to your scalp, massaging it slowly, then rinse with shampoo and water.

5. Neem leaves have therapeutic properties

Neem tree grows in Southeast Asia and is called “the sacred tree” or “pharmacy of nature.” Used since ancient times for its therapeutic properties, it has proven very effective in treating dandruff.

What should you do?

Buy a few neem leaves, dry and crush them until you get a powder. Mix the powder with four tablespoons of olive oil and apply the mixture to your scalp. Let the mask on for one hour, then shampoo and rinse.
Itching may occur when applying this mixture, but this is normal.

6. Coconut oil and honey mask moisturizes the scalp

This mask moisturizes the scalp, removes dandruff and helps you have a healthy and silky hair.

What should you do?

Mix two tablespoons of coconut oil, two tablespoons of olive oil, two tablespoons of honey and three teaspoons of yogurt. If the mask is too thick, you can add a little yogurt.
Apply the mask to your scalp, gently massage and leave it on for 45 minutes. Finally, rinse with water and shampoo and your hair will look great.
For extra effect, you can apply a few drops of coconut oil at the end (to wet hair).
