Stye is a very common eye disease but you shouldn’t panic. There are treatments that help you get rid of it quickly.
Stye is a painful swelling filled with pus. It is a common contagious infection but harmless. This disease is caused by one type of bacteria that live on the skin. There are two kinds of eye stye:
– External: which is an infection of the sebaceous gland at the base of the eyelids
– Internal: which is harder to treat and occurs inside the eyelid.
Symptoms of infection are redness of the eyelid, mild pain and swelling. Also, the eye can weep and the person will feel a stinging sensation. Because it is a contagious disease, an eye stye requires strict hygiene and care rules.
How to treat an eye stye quickly:
Brine
Boil 1 liter of water with 2 teaspoons of salt. Let cool and soak a cleansing pad in it. Dab the stye and soak the cleansing pad continuously in brine. Keep the compress for about 20 minutes. Use this remedy in the morning and in the evening and you’ll get rid of the stye super fast.
Whole milk
Heat a cup of whole milk and dab the stye with a sterile swab using hot liquid as possible.
Apply until the remaining milk cools and then rinse with lukewarm water.
Be careful not to put hot milk in the eye and avoid using dirty hands because you can end up with a nasty infection.
Tropaeolum
This flower is a traditional remedy, but people forgot its benefits.
If you don’t have it in your garden, it is best to ask your pharmacist. After applying the flower (petals) to the stye, let them dry and wash the area with antiseptic soap after 4 hours.
If infection persists more than a week you should consult an ophthalmologist. It will prescribe medicines containing antibiotics.
In case of internal stye, necessary consult an ophthalmologist. It can be a complication of the disease and you may need surgery.
